About Us

Ta Thoi is a non-profit Indian cultural organization based in Maryland (https://www.facebook.com/TaThoiDance). It is primarily a group of Indian dance enthusiasts and performers, whose main goal is to promote Indian culture to a wider audience, while building social awareness.

Ta Thoi aims to tackle difficult social issues such as the lack of gender equality , through dance. We believe, that by shedding light on such issues, we get one step closer to the solution. As an organization, we also strive to re-interpret various Indian mythological constructs narratives, and present alternative viewpoints to the audience. 

The organization comprises both senior dancers and younger and upcoming Indian classical dancers including small children. Ta Thoi has widely performed both locally in the DC/ MD/ VA area and across the US in places such as New York and Boston.
